The Arbor Knot

Under: Fishing Knots — December 2, 2005

The best way to tie an Arbor Knot, which is used for fly fishing; using these simple directions will give you that perfect and affective fishing knot. One of the quickest and easiest ways to tie a line to the reel spool.

1. Pass the line around reel arbor.
2. Tie an overhand knot around the standing line itself.
3. Then tie a second overhand knot in the tag end.
4. Then grab either side of the knots and pull tightly and cut of any access. Cut off the excess. Then slide the first overhand knot down the line to snug it around the reel arbor.
5. Then slide the first overhand knot down so it fits nicely around the reel arbor.
And there we have a nice complete and easy knot.
